THE URBAN CODE BUILDING
PROTECT ME
Mosaic censor with razor sharp 3D pixels
“INTERMIX” exhibition, Taipei, 2006
Taking the television as a symbol rather than as a living room object, we “mosaic-coated” this cultural icon as a protest and as an acknowledgment of our love-hate relationship with it.
The coat, a pixel skin, is made of razor-sharp diagonally cut Perspex cubes. This 3D pixel jacket censors all images, including the TV, into mosaic blurring, but cuts those that dare to touch it. Handle with protection only.
