IPEVO OFFICE 1
Central park at work
The IT (information technology) start-up office is organized around a central park zone that carries multiple roles: entry foyer, waiting area, main promenade, a place for socializing and casual meetings, a discussion lounge, printer work area, and passage to the pantry and service areas. A twist on ‘IT park’ or ‘software farm’, the Central Park is a fuzzy space made entirely of dried elements: dried Taiwanese grass lawns as walls and closet doors, recycled camphor trunks (a fragrant, natural antimicrobial and insect repellent) and silk foliage as custom “tree table” hybrids- where the cafe table is integrated with the tree trunks. The grassy scent with a hint of camphor permeates the office and creates a direct yet subconscious olfactory association with nature, and provides relief from long hours on computers.
