PENGHU HOUSE
STONE CLOUD
On a hill top with views of the Tamsui River, a shelter reimagines the fusion of 2 elements that are antithetical in matter and spirit- stone and cloud. Weight and mass is used in striking contrast against lightness and the ephemeral. Stone is expressed as shading, a layer of light and shadows suspended above like a cloud. The stones’ variegated matte and polished surfaces reflect the sky conditions as a moving pattern of clouds overhead.
