PARK OF CONFLUENCES
An urban park of paths and connections
Built on the new High Speed Rail Terminus, Park of Confluences is a place of convergence: new and old, fast and slow, public and private, density and sparseness. A super Asian urban green space that provides convenience and interconnectivity between live, work and play; the park extends the city’s organic urban alleyways into an active network of landscape paths and nodes that encourages multiple patterns of explorations.
Each crossroads is a micro outdoor auditorium with a distinctive character and creates a “system form” of relief and sunken outdoor spaces sheltered from traffic. Movement from the international airport to the High Speed Rail, to one’s office or home, to shopping, to the park and the older city beyond is achievable in one single continuous path: a commute of 30 minutes and a 15 minute walk.
