ABCDEF SUPER BLOCK

CHURCH-DEPOT-GAS STATION-HOTEL-RESIDENTIAL-MALL

The complex design brief calls for a masterplan organizational system that can accommodate the conflicting development value of gas station, bus depot, hotel/offices, church and residential programs, while maximizing their individuality and autonomy for optimum market value. To achieve this, a program “shish-kabob” is devised, whereby each program occupies its own distinct zone with each of their specific market and spatial requirements addressed.

Five distinct program blocks are “collapsed” together: hotel/office (block A), church (block B), mall (block C), residential (block D), bus depot (block E) and gas station (block F) function as individual and independent urban blocks that are connected via a “Hybrid Podium” that integrates the distinctiveness of all its incongruous parts of gas utilities, commercial, transportation, religious and residential.
